Pushkin’s classic poem: The Wish

The wish

by Alexander Puskin

I shed tears my tears--my consolation

and I am silent my murmur is dead

my soul

sunk in a depression's shade

hides in its depths the bitter exultation

I don't deploy my passing dream of life--

vanish in dark the empty apparition!

I care only for my love's infliction

and let me die

but only die in love!

Wish

Pushkin

Crying silently,

Tears are the only comfort,

A promise of eternal love is a dream,

My heart is sad and hesitant,

All the sad things in the world,

I want to put it aside, < /p>

I only grieve for love,

I die only for love.
