Listen to the meaning of Liu Changqing’s ancient poem on the piano

Interpretation:

The lyre made a clear and sweet sound, and quietly listened to the sad sound of the wind blowing into the pine forest.

Even though I love this old tune so much, most people nowadays no longer play or sing it.

Original text:

On the seven strings of Lingling, listen quietly to the cold wind in the pines.

Although the ancient tune is self-loving, many people today don’t play it.

"Listening to Playing the Qin" is a work by Liu Changqing, a poet of the Tang Dynasty.

This is an aspirational poem, in which the poet listens to playing the piano quietly, showing the superb skill of the piano player, and uses ancient tunes to express his regret for not being recognized for his talent and having a rare close friend.

The whole poem shifts from praising the sound of the piano to lamenting the fashion, revealing the poet's self-admiration and unusual sentiment.
