"Reading Poetry" Lucky Man——"You are still by my side"

The water of the waterfall flows upstream.

The dandelion seeds float back from the distance and gather into the shape of an umbrella.

The sun rises from the west and sets. To the east.

The bullet returned to the barrel of the gun,

The athlete returned to the starting line,

I handed in the admission letter and forgot about the ten-year cold window.

The smell of food wafts from the kitchen.

You sign my paper.

Turn off the TV and help me put my schoolbag on my back.

You are still by my side.

"You Are Still By My Side" is the first prize-winning essay in the "Micro Love Letter" essay competition published by the Chinese University of Hong Kong's "Independent Times" magazine. The author is Dai Chang, a university student in the Chinese Department of Hong Kong.

This is a little poem for my mother. The writing is clean, unpretentious, and simple, and speaks directly to people's hearts. The author Dai Chang is from Northeast China. This poem was written to his mother when he was spending the Spring Festival alone while studying at the University of Hong Kong. There are no words such as "love", "kindness" and "nostalgia" between the lines to express my longing and gratitude for my mother. I only use the natural law that a few common things in life will never return with the passage of time to express my metaphor. The growth and separation of children has become an irreversible fact.

"I handed in the admission notice and forgot about the ten-year cold window... You signed my paper, turned off the TV, and helped me put my schoolbag on my back." This kind of fantasy about turning back time , returning to childhood, the memories of being dependent on my mother for everything, the desire to still cling to my mother's warm embrace, and other emotions, without the need to express them deliberately, they come to life on the paper.

This tender poem written to mother takes people's emotions from trivial daily life, and what emerges is praise and attachment to eternal family love.

Children grow up and parents grow old. The children leave home, and the parents guard the nest. When you are around, just say it is ordinary. Too ordinary to realize that time flies by and people grow old easily. I wish you were still with me. If you think about it, go back in time and go back to your childhood when you were still with your parents. Unfortunately, time will never turn back.

This touching poem was once misunderstood as a poem in memory of her mother who had passed away. In fact, this happy mother did not die. Therefore, children who have such insights at this time are lucky, and mothers are happy.

The most painful thing in life is that "the child wants to be raised but the child is not treated as such". And often it is after the death of a loved one that children realize their faults and realize that their parents are getting older and passing away day by day, like the breeze blowing over the water, like time passing through the fingertips, it is quiet and Unintentionally.

So, everything can wait, but the care and companionship of parents cannot wait.

The tree wants to be quiet but the wind does not stop; the child wants to be nourished but cannot be kissed.

As long as "you are still by my side", "I" will be lucky.
