Li Shihao is one of Du Fu's "Three Officials and Three Farewells". In chronological order, the poet went deep step by step, from boarding to farewell. The whole article has a beginning, a development, a climax and an end. The beginning and end of the poem are narratives, and the middle is dialogue. The poet skillfully described the tragic experience of the old woman's family through her story.
This five-character ancient poem reveals the cruelty of feudal rulers through the story the author saw with his own eyes, reflects the profound disaster brought to the people by the war caused by the "An Shi Rebellion" in the Tang Dynasty, and expresses the poet's deep sympathy for the working people. One of the artistic features of this poem is conciseness, which integrates lyricism and argument into narrative and distinguishes love from hate. Scenes and details describe nature and reality. Good at cutting, with a prominent center. The poetic style is clear, fluent and tragic, and it is a model of realistic literature.
Shi's creative background:
In 758 AD, in order to quell the rebellion of An (An Lushan) and Shi (Shi Siming), nine of our troops, including Li Guangbi, led a 200,000-strong army to besiege Yexian (now Anyang, Henan) occupied by An Qingxu (son of An Lushan), and victory was in sight. However, in the following spring, due to the reinforcements sent by Shi Siming and the internal contradictions in Tang Jun, the situation was reversed. Under the attack of the enemy on both sides, Tang Jun collapsed across the board. Guo Ziyi and others retreated to Heyang (now mengzhou city, Henan) and dispatched reinforcements everywhere.
Du Fu had just returned to Huazhou from Luoyang, passing through Xin 'an, Shi Hao and Tongguan, and wrote a group of poems according to the reality he witnessed, among which Li Shihao was one.
