Pear is as white as snow and is deeply loved by people. In ancient times, it was the object of literati singing. Every time the pear blossoms, it's really a pleasure for three or five friends to gather under the shadow of the flowers, laughing and drinking. More than that, pear blossoms often remind people of the stories of old friends, which is quite sentimental. This poem "Pear Blossom by the River" was written by the poet because of the new land.

This poem is one of the twelve poems of Dongchuan Road in Reward and Yuan Jiu. The so-called Yuan Jiu is the poet Yuan Zhen, so it is called because it ranks ninth.

At this time, Yuan Zhen, who was in Liangzhou, also missed Bai Juyi, and wrote a "Liangzhou Dream" that night.

Later, both of them were demoted and placed as officials in other places, so they often contacted each other to encourage and comfort each other. As Bai Juyi said, they are "friends in literature and enemies in poetry" all their lives, and their friendship is profound.
