I long for a basketball
I long for a basketball, a basketball that carries dreams.
Since I was a child, I have loved those figures galloping on the court on TV, the banging sound of basketball hitting the floor, the suspenseful ending, and the solemnity of the final kill. There is also the joy after the final victory.
Gradually, in my eyes, basketball is no longer just a ball or a sport, but represents a kind of vitality, a kind of persistence, a kind of self-confidence, and a kind of never giving up. Nian, a feeling of brotherhood.
I like to play ball with other children, laugh together, and fight for victory together. Basketball brings me a great feeling together. Just like the Nike slogan: No brothers, no basketball.
I know the reason why my parents don’t buy basketballs for me. They are afraid that my playing with balls will delay my studies. But I want to say that Jeremy Lin did not lose his studies because of basketball. On the contrary, the hard work in basketball tempered his spirit of never giving up. His brain did not deteriorate because of basketball. On the contrary, basketball gave him a strong body.
The reason for many basketball stars may be that their parents bought them a small basketball when they were young, but it helped them achieve a big dream. Although, after owning basketball, I cannot guarantee that I will be as successful as them in the future, but I do firmly believe that my efforts and sweat will never be less than theirs.
I don’t need toys, computers, or delicious food, but what I long for is a basketball that carries my dreams!
