14 Common Bitter Road

Kulu 14

It is a worship route set by Catholicism to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus.

Along the way, there are 14 scenic spots reflecting the whole process of Jesus' crucifixion, and each scenic spot has a cross or related pictures and statues arranged in order. It originated from the path that Jesus took when he was crucified in Jerusalem, which Christianity called via cru-cis or via dolorosa. Later, Franciscans developed it into a way of praying and paying tribute. Its cross scenic spots are generally set on the passages in Catholic churches, monasteries, cemeteries or hospitals, or on the roads and foothills leading to churches, monasteries or holy places. The worshippers marched in turn, stopping everywhere to pray silently.
