Why is the author of the poem Rain Lane so sad?

Rain Lane is a work written by the author Dai Wangshu in the early 1940s, which shows the scene of the protagonist in the rain lane and has a typical "sad" style. Then why is this poem so sad? Here are some possible reasons:

1. Time background. At this time, during the period of China and War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, China was in the midst of war and turmoil, and people's lives were not only short of materials, but also psychologically traumatized.

2. Location environment. Rain Lane is a desolate, gloomy and lonely place. Walking in such a place on a rainy night makes people feel unhappy and depressed.

3. Personal experience. Dai Wangshu grew up in a bad family environment, lost his father when he was young, and was persecuted by the Kuomintang's party-clearing movement, all of which left deep depression and pain in his heart for a long time.

Therefore, the above reasons are intertwined and reflect each other, which constitutes the gloomy, sad and lonely atmosphere presented by the poem Rain Lane.
