Myth: the story of ancient people's understanding and imagination of natural and cultural phenomena. It is an unconscious artistic creation of early human beings and a collective oral creation with artistic interpretation and description.

Fable: Implicit language, a genre of literary works. It is usually ironic or warning, explaining a truth or lesson in a false story or anthropomorphic way.

The main reason is that the time and place of origin are different.
