Poems written by Li Bai to Yang Guifei

Li Bai's poem to Yang Guifei is three words in a clear tone.

Qingpingdiao 1

Beautiful people who see the bright clouds, think of their clothes and see flowers come to see them.

If Yushan didn't see her, it would be Yaochi meeting under the moon.

Clouds are her clothes, flowers are her looks; The spring breeze blows the railings, and the dew is moist and colorful. Don't look at the mountain of Yushan, you can only meet under the moon in Yaotai.

Li Bai, Qingpingdiao Ⅱ

A red dew is fragrant, and the rain is heartbroken.

Excuse me, who looks like Han Palace? The poor swallow relies on new cosmetics.

The imperial concubine is really a peony with dew, gorgeous and fragrant. The goddess Chu was heartbroken in vain when she met Wushan. Excuse me, the favorite princess of Han Palace, who can be like her? Lovely Zhao has to rely on new makeup.

Li Bai, Qingpingdiao Ⅲ

The beauty of beauty and red peony complement each other, and beauty and long flowers are king.

As beautiful as spring, it can eliminate infinite resentment and live in the north of Chenxiang Pavilion.

Famous flowers have stunning beauty, which makes people feel relaxed and happy, wins the king's smile and keeps watching them. In the spring breeze, the king's infinite disappointment was dispelled, and he leaned against the railing in the north of Chenxiang Temple.

Creation background

One day in the spring of 743 AD (the second year of Tianbao of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty) or 744 AD (the third year of Tianbao), when Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty and Yang Guifei were watching peony flowers in the Chenxiang Temple in the palace, they called Hanlin to wait for Li Bai to enter the palace to write a new movement. Li Bai wrote these three poems on the golden flower stationery when his letter entered the palace.

The first song was written from the perspective of space, and the peony flower was more beautiful than Yang Guifei's. The second song was written from the perspective of time, showing the love for Yang Guifei; The third song consists of one or two songs, which combines peony and Yang Guifei with the king.

The whole poem is ingenious in conception and gorgeous in rhetoric. It combines flowers and people to write, depicts the scene of flowers and plants, and shows the poet's superb artistic skills.
