Unconquerable

William Ernest Henry

Out of the darkness that hangs over me

Night hangs over me.

From one pole to the other, it is as black as a pit.

Between the north and south poles, it is as dark as the center of the earth.

I thank any god.

I thank the gods.

For my unconquerable soul

Give me an unruly soul.

In trouble

Under the cruel clutches

I didn't flinch or cry loudly.

I never flinch, I never cry.

Under the threat of opportunity

Under the threat of bullying

My head is bloody, but I don't give in

My head is bleeding, but I never lower my head.

Beyond this place full of anger and tears

In this land full of anger and tears

But the fear of shadows looms.

Fear in the shadows is approaching.

However, the threat of these years

But now these years of coercion

Find, and will find me, fearless

Sooner or later, I will discover my fearlessness.

It doesn't matter how narrow the door is.

No matter how narrow the door is.

What punishment is written on the scroll?

No matter how tense the trial is

I am the master of my destiny.

I am the master of my destiny.

I am the captain of my soul.

I am the helmsman of my soul.
