The Museum of Poetry and History is the third and main building on the central axis, and it is the central building of the memorial hall of Du Fu Caotang. More than 1400 poems left by Du Fu truly and vividly show the social life picture of the Tang Dynasty before and after the "An Shi Rebellion" and reflect the history of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline. Because Du Fu's poems truly and profoundly reflect the history of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline, they are known as "poetry proves history and poetry supplements history", so they are called "poetry history", hence the name of architecture.
On the east and west sides of the Museum of Poetry and History are the clay sculptures of Cai, a famous folk artist in Chengdu, Du Fu in the east and Li Bai in the west. Li and Du Tong were the most outstanding poets in the Tang Dynasty, and were praised by Guo Moruo as "Gemini in the history of China's poetry". Although their creative paths are different-Du Fu pays attention to reality and Li Bai is extremely romantic, this does not prevent them from becoming sincere friends.
