Tao Wenpeng, born in 1941 in Nanning, Guangxi, graduated from the Chinese Department of Peking University in 1964. In 1978, he was admitted to the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and studied under Mr. Wu Shichang, specializing in Tang and Song poetry. He is currently a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a doctoral supervisor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Literary Heritage".
