Wang Guixiang
I am an ordinary rural junior high school teacher, who has worked as a junior high school head teacher for many years. Looking back and reflecting on the work of the head teacher in these years, reading books on pedagogy and psychology, I found that many students in the class are left-behind teenagers, who lack emotion and need emotional giving, transmission and expression. For left-behind teenagers, emotional communication between teachers and students is particularly important.
What is the best way to communicate with students every day in rural boarding schools?
I have been having face-to-face conversations with students, and I believe many class teachers do the same: I use the morning self-study counseling time to talk to six students every day, or talk about learning methods, or guide interpersonal communication, or channel bad psychology. However, this method can easily become a unilateral statement by the teacher, and it is not easy for students to open their hearts in front of the teacher.
From my practical experience, letter communication between teachers and students can go deeper into students' hearts and realize two-way communication than face-to-face conversation.
From the spring of 20 1 1 to the present, I have communicated with students by letters and achieved good results. The letter I wrote to them was called "love letter" by the students. Ting, a girl from Class 20 13, sorted out dozens of letters before graduation and said to me, "Teacher, I will cherish these love letters for a lifetime!"
In a blink of an eye, there have been ten years of correspondence with students, mainly including three types: weekly letters, daily notes, birthday letters, and of course, occasional correspondence when students encounter psychological problems. About 40 letters a week every year, nearly 6.5438+0.5 million words; The daily notes are regular and even more difficult to calculate; I have written 36 birthday letters since last semester.
Years of experience in correspondence exchange have taught me that in the process of correspondence exchange, teachers and classmates are more open-minded, frank and full of trust; Letters are more convenient to review repeatedly than the voice of heart-to-heart, and each review is equivalent to communication; For words, the feelings and truth behind words can have enough time to feel and understand, so they can also impress and inspire the soul. This is probably the reason why I insist on choosing this communication method for ten years and enjoy it.
Write every Monday and exchange topics.
The impulse to write a letter a week was born in the spring of 20 1 1. At that time, I wanted to give some encouragement to the students who were about to face the senior high school entrance examination. After half a year, I felt that the effect was very good, so I persisted.
Every weekend, sitting in front of the computer, the lively and lovely appearance of the students in the class comes to mind, typing characters on the computer and communicating with the students. First of all, it starts with the changes of the scenery around us, then reviews the courses and activities of the week, then focuses on a certain topic, and finally conveys the blessings to the students.
Faith is not chicken soup for the soul, but mainly a discussion of topics of interest or importance to students. There are about 10 themes in a school year. Take 39 letters of the 20 19-2020 school year as an example. The theme of each month is: September, discussing ideals; 10 month to discuss the significance of learning; 1 1 month to promote reading; 12 months, discussing personality development; The theme of The Merchant of Venice was discussed in January. In March, exchange learning quality; In April, explore learning methods; In May, introduce role models; In June, discuss the characteristics of success; In July, share the journey of hero's growth.
Last week's letter is the fourth letter this semester. The title of the letter is: persistence is not as difficult as you think. This letter consists of five parts: introduction to weather topics; Review the campus life for a week; The meaning, significance and local examples of persistence; Examples of persistence abroad; Share the stories and famous sayings about persistence in the class.
A few years ago, these letters were written on Thursday or Friday, and then the school logistics office helped print them out and sent them to students before they came home from school on Friday afternoon. I really appreciate the school leaders who are here to support us! Students take letters home and read them with their parents in the evening. Some parents are not at home, and students read to their grandparents. In recent years, with the popularity of the smart phone Internet, we have established a home-school WeChat group, and our letters are sent directly to the group. The recipients of "love letters" have expanded to more parents, because they are also allies of our education. If the letter is written a little late and students can't read it at home, they will study by themselves on Sunday night, and we will discuss it while reading, so that the content and theme of the letter can go deeper into the students' hearts.
After the Spring Festival last year, the epidemic situation in COVID-19 was so serious that teachers and students could not start school normally. The students stayed at home for several months. At that time, writing letters every Monday became the best way for our teachers and students to communicate with each other. In my letter, I encouraged my classmates, reminded them how to control their time at home, and encouraged them to be self-disciplined and self-reliant.
10 years have passed, and there are hundreds of letters, about one million words, stored in my computer. I think this is my best life gift for my children!
Daily notes convey strength.
Last spring entered the end of April, and I can finally go back to school! But as teachers, what we see is the students' panic: due to the lack of effective supervision during the epidemic, the learning effect is not ideal, and there are still three months to go before the senior high school entrance examination, and their panic is inevitable.
How to stimulate students' fighting spirit and enhance their confidence in the face of the senior high school entrance examination? What can I do besides writing once a week? When shopping online, I accidentally saw the post-it note given by the seller. The pattern on it was beautiful: several beautiful purple irises, with the artistic conception of classical poetry. So I had an idea: use morning self-study every day to write a short note to each of several students and write inspiring words. It can not only play an inspirational role, but also accumulate materials for students' writing, killing two birds with one stone.
For more than three months, I forgot to use a few sticky notes, and each student received an average of three sticky notes. In the content of each message, May is an inspirational catchword on the Internet, June is a famous saying about diligence, cherishing time and reading, and July is an ancient poem with students' names.
May is a gift of online inspirational language. For example, on May 20th, my teacher should seize the opportunity to "confess" to the students. My "confession" to Ya is that the best way to love yourself is to make yourself excellent. See you again, I hope we are all in a higher place. The world will live up to every effort and persistence. The aligned "confession" is: a trip to the world, positive; Not afraid of the future, not thinking about the past. The road ahead is vast and everything can be expected.
June is the keynote speech. On June 16, the theme of the note to China was persistence: no accumulation, no miles; You can't become a river without a small stream. -Xunzi tells you the mystery that let me achieve my goal. My only strength is my persistence. -pasteur whoever has experienced arduous will can achieve any goal. -Mi Nan is poor and powerful, and will not fall into the clouds. -Wang Bo
In July, inspirational ancient poems with students' names were presented. In order to make it easier for students to understand, I copied the translated sentences at the back. On July 2, the note sent to Yunchao wrote
Yunchao:
In ancient times, people who made great achievements were not only talented, but also determined to persevere. -Su Shi's On Chao Cuo (In ancient times, people who achieved great things not only had outstanding talents, but also had perseverance. )
Dear Yunchao, you have "extraordinary talent" and "perseverance". I'm sure you will take the mid-term exam in ten days. Come on!
Yours, Miss Wang.

Very beautiful post-it notes, beautiful sentences, and my neat font. Daily notes are very popular with students, and many students stick tapes on their desks to remind and motivate themselves. Not only that, but at their suggestion, we use the back blackboard of the classroom for "daily golden sentence push". The students who received the blessing copied the sentences they liked and wanted to share with you on the blackboard. When other students saw what they liked, they began to write and accumulate.
Daily notes quietly convey the power of motivation. We will continue this way of communication.
A birthday letter full of blessings
Our He Hua No.1 Middle School is a rural boarding junior high school. Most of the children in the class are left-behind teenagers. Their needs are more emotional than academic. Think about Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. So at the beginning of each school year, I will count the birthdays of all my classmates after work. When students celebrate their birthdays, I will carefully choose a poem for them, make a PPT of the birthday poem, put a birthday hat on him in the birthday class, read the birthday poem aloud, send out the printed birthday poem, and finally give them a big hug. The whole class will shout Happy Birthday in unison.
This school year, I added two more links, sending a book and writing a letter. So far, 36 birthday letters have been written. The content of the birthday letter is mainly encouragement and blessing. The main sections are: reading students' names and reading the expectations of their loved ones; List the same celebrities and great men in Amanome as students, so that students have high expectations of themselves; Interpret birthday poems and read out the emotions or philosophies contained in the poems and the expectations of teachers and students; Introduce the contents of sending books, and explain the purpose and expectation of sending books.
Birthday letters are usually written to students one or two days after birthday class, which is equivalent to expressing birthday wishes to students for the second time. Haizi said: Starting from tomorrow, I will write to every relative and tell them my happiness. I will tell everyone what the lightning of happiness told me. Students' feedback also makes me feel as happy as Haizi. For example, when Wei Jia received a birthday letter, he used the weekend to write me a letter in the newspaper. In the letter, he copied the stories and honors about me searched from the Internet, listed the celebrities and great men on the same day as me, and encouraged me to work by going up a flight of stairs. Student Hua is more romantic. She wrote me a letter on the huge plane leaves, expressing her gratitude and gratitude to the teacher, writing about the influence of the teacher on her studies and spiritual personality, saying that she would be a teacher when she grew up and sow the seeds of truth, goodness and beauty like a teacher.
Although it takes some time to write these letters, I think it is worthwhile to spend more time and energy to send love to these children!
Years of experience in letter communication let me see the good effect of letter communication. Letters convey educational wisdom, which can give students positive psychological hints, open their hearts and realize barrier-free spiritual communication; Letters convey educators' deep affection for education. Because they love education, they try their best to get close to students through letters and give them as much guidance, care and spiritual guidance as possible. Correspondence has become an educational lifestyle, a normal educational life and a spiritual landscape for our teachers and students.
In the future teaching life, we will continue to use letters as a way of communication to convey educational wisdom and affection!
