Gexing style is one of the ancient poetry genres established on the basis of Yuefu poems in Han, Wei and Six Dynasties in the early Tang Dynasty. However, Yuefu and Gexing are not the same concept, so Yuefu is not all Gexing, and Gexing is not all Yuefu.
Songs began to flourish in the early Tang dynasty, and some of them were old Yuefu themes, such as "Moonlight on a Spring River" and "A Generation of Sad Pulsatilla". Some of them are not Yuefu, such as Lu's Ancient Meaning of Chang 'an and Luo's Imperial Capital.
Therefore, although singing is a kind of Yuefu poetry, not all Yuefu poems are singing, and not all singing is Yuefu poetry. The relationship between them has certain complexity and diversity.
