The Chinese Poetry Society was founded on May 9th, 1994. It is a national-level academic group headed by the Chinese Writers Association, and it is also a national-level academic group composed of poets, poetry critics and poetry editors. The first chairman was the famous poets Ai Qing and Cang Kejia, and the current chairman is Yang Ke, member of the National Committee of the Chinese Writers Association and vice chairman of the Guangdong Writers Association.
