Appreciation of Peony Poems in "Sending Peony to Duan"

Appreciation of Peony Poems in Peony Watching Peony Giving Section

Zhou Yao

Jin Rui Xia Ying duo Caixiang, the first suspected girl to walk out of the blue room.

It's another year of wandering, and I've sent a message to Xianhu Solang.

Duan is friendly. This poem was written in the early years of Tang Wenzong (around 837 AD). At this time, Duan is working in Jixian Hall, and the two often answer poems. This poem is one of them. The original title reads: "Look at Kegu (Duan) and save wine." Seeing that Duan was afraid of wine, he didn't like to move cups and lamps, and he didn't know how to eat, drink and be merry, so he wrote this poem by borrowing peony, with a hint of persuasion.

The beginning of the poem focuses on the color and fragrance of peony: "Xia Ying, Jin Rui, is colorful." In late spring, peony flowers are fragrant and beautiful; Golden stamens and Xia Hong-like petals set each other off, radiant and fragrant. The poet's brushwork is very clever, and only one poem describes the national color of peony "Xiang Yan is better than burning blue rosy clouds" (Bai Juyi's "Looking at the residual peony flowers at home to give Li Twenty"). The word "Jin Rui Xia Ying" focuses on color, showing the bright petals and stamens of peony, while the word "overlapping color fragrance" focuses on the fragrance of peony, and the word "overlapping color" indicates the prosperity of peony, from which we can imagine the richness and intensity of floral fragrance. When Bai Juyi described the red peony, there was such a poem: "Peony is fragrant, peony is fragrant, and the golden core blooms in the ruby room." A thousand pieces of red Xia Ying are rotten, and a hundred crimson lights are on. "It can be said that the characteristics of red peony have been written. At first glance, people think it's a "rich or expensive mm, colorful." "Zhou Yao's poems may be inspired by Bai Juyi's poems.

Next, the second sentence: "The first suspected girl walked out of the blue room." When the brushwork changes, the peony itself is not directly described, but compared with the girl's shape, which is refreshing: a girl with beautiful posture, pink face and spring, slightly shy, is really touching. When the red peony is fragrant like a flower, it "reflects the leaves to cover the face and smiles with a low charming smile" (Bai Juyi's Peony Square). It is Ying Ying, bright and delicate, especially the pink petals, which are light in edge and dense in the middle, and look like blushing when a girl is shy. Therefore, on the whole, peony is really "like a virgin" (Wang Ming Xiang Jin's "Genealogy"). The poet's brushwork is really wonderful, which fully shows the shape and charm of red peony and leaves a deep impression on people.

The third and fourth sentences of the poem: "Wandering for another year, sending a message to gather immortals to call Suolang" shows the poet's love for flowers and his mood of eating, drinking and having fun in time. The "wandering" here means fleeting, fleeting, without hesitation, unable to stop. In Lu You's poem Except Night, there is a sentence: "Time flies, passing away at one another, and the coming year is laughing and wandering", in which "wandering" means this. "Jixian" refers to the Hall of Jixian, which here refers to Duan Shicheng. The Hall of Jixian in the Tang Dynasty is also called the Hall of Jixian. Although it was changed to Ji Xian in the 13th year of Kaiyuan, people sometimes used the word Ji Xian. There is such a passage in Duan's "Letter to Wen Feiqing": "I recently gathered immortal old officials and offered two cups of ink. I want to give them a drink. " This is the most reliable evidence. "Solang" is the name of wine, that is, Sanluo wine. Peony is so beautiful, but it can't bloom often. It's been a year since it withered last year, and I really miss it. Now spring is just right, and peony is in full bloom. If not, when will it be? So the poet came up with the last poem to comfort his good friend: "Send a message to Xianhu Solang." How can such time and such beautiful flowers be wasted? Eat, drink and be merry! Friend, why do you have a hard time with yourself, spending too much money and not drinking too much wine? Raise your cup! Duan was diligent in Jixian Hall and didn't indulge in hops. He himself wrote in the poem "Fear of Wine for Zhou Yao": "White (wine) flies wildly, and the new grass and stone are frozen and mixed with plum fragrance. Irony is often avoided in poetry, especially before the flower is called Solang. " Duan's attitude towards life seems incomprehensible. Therefore, he wrote poems to exhort many times: "Look at the music score, and live up to your youth" ("Mock paragraph"), but this one is more subtle, but the paragraph is still the same.

Although this poem is not excellent in many poems praising peony in the Tang Dynasty, it is also unique: this is mainly manifested in the first two sentences of the poem, which describe the color of peony very brilliantly and beautifully. In addition, the description of peony is novel and vivid, which makes people feel as if they are there, and they see the graceful posture of peony.
