Appreciation:
This article records Mencius's lobbying for King Xuan to implement benevolent government. It shows that everyone has a heart that cannot be tolerated. As long as the king of the country can carry forward this kindness in his heart, extend his kindness to others, and be kind to the people, it will not be difficult to protect the people and become king. Through the dialogue between Mencius and King Xuan of Qi, the article expresses Mencius' kingly thought of "protecting the people and becoming king" and his political ideas of enriching and educating the people. It also shows Mencius' eloquent character and superb debating skills. His idea was, first of all, to give the people a certain amount of industry so that they could support their families and live and work in peace and contentment.
