Their creations are also very different from Jian'an literature. Generally speaking, content that reflects the suffering of the people and the pursuit of "making achievements" is replaced by exposing the dark terror of politics and "the sorrow of life." The positive and enterprising spirit was replaced by the negative resistance of denying reality and hiding behind the world. The works contain more colors of Lao and Zhuang’s thoughts. However, dissatisfaction and resistance to the dark reality are still the main tendency of the work, so the basic spirit still inherits the "Jian'an style". However, its overall style is very different from Jian'an poetry. Although Ji Kang is pure and solemn and Ruan Ji is distant and profound, they both have their own unique lyrical ways, but the "poetry mixed with the immortal heart", praising the world, shows the obvious color of Lao and Zhuang's thoughts, as well as the tone of loneliness, anger and sadness, and the twists and turns of the expression. All methods make Zhengshi poetry unique. Due to the specific social and historical environment and writers' continuous exploration in the art of poetry, literati five-character poetry has completely broken away from the influence of Han Yuefu folk songs, enriched the expressive techniques of five-character poetry, and made important contributions to the development of literati five-character poetry.
