Meiguan, Meiling, North Guangdong

Meiling is another name for Dageng Mountain in the Five Ridges. Because there are many plums on the ridge, also known as Meiling, it is said that Hongyan flew south here and turned around. Meiling, formerly known as Dayuling, is more than 300 meters high, ranking first among the five mountains, with an altitude of 746 meters. In ancient times, it was called Saishang, Tailing Mountain, Dongqiao Mountain and Lianxi Mountain. According to legend, General Yu Sheng of the Western Han Dynasty was ordered by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty to command troops to fight South Vietnam here. Yu Jiangjun Mountain built a city and a village on the ridge, which looks like a granary, so it is also called Yuling and Dayuling, and is one of the five ridges.

In the Song Dynasty, the poet Jiang wrote Mianshui: "The water in the east of the city is blue and deep, and the young servants come to the north by boat." This poem is about the autumn of five years (BC 1 12), when there was chaos in South Vietnam, the emperor sent Yang servants and ship generals out to Mianping. After receiving the imperial edict, Yang Servant led the shipbuilders back to Gan River to Nan 'an, abandoned the ship and crossed the ridge, and built a ship at the junction of Mianling River and Two Rivers for more than a year. In the winter of six years in Ding Yuan, he led the shipbuilders to plunge into the water, joined forces with General Fu Bo, and marched into Panyu, thus putting down the South Vietnam Rebellion in one fell swoop. There are no fewer than 50,000 shipbuilders in yangfu, and the ship is more than 20 meters high.

There is a stone road in Meiling that allows people to climb to the top of the mountain. This is a famous official road in ancient times, which was formed as early as the Qin Dynasty. By the fourth year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty (AD 7 16), the roadbed of Zhangjiuling in Guangdong was about 5 meters wide, which could be used by large wagons.

Meiguan, also known as Dameiguan, is located at the junction of Dayu County in Jiangxi Province and Nanxiong County in Guangdong Province. Qin unified the whole country and began to set up a pass in Dayuling, named "Hengpu", and sent troops to defend it. Old customs are early. In the fourth year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty, a new post road was built through the ancient Meiguan Road. In the eighth year of Song Jiayou (1063), Cai Tinghua, who is known as Nan 'an, built a building on it, and made a stone show "Meiguan".

It is famous for its dangerous terrain and important geographical location. This is not only an ancient battlefield, but also a place where the Red Army nodded during the revolutionary war. Meiguan, at the top of Meiling Mountain, has been the main traffic route between the north and the south since ancient times, and it has been a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties.

Nowadays, this ancient road naturally no longer has the atmosphere of cars and Ma Xiaoxiao. Walking slowly up the ancient road, I saw lush mountain walls on both sides. At the top of the ridge, there stood a steady and steady chengguan, and the Guangdong-Jiangxi provincial boundary was in the middle of this chengguan. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War, Chen Yi led a three-year guerrilla war on the ancient Meiguan Road and wrote the well-known poem meiling three chapters. Meiling is named after plum blossoms all over the mountains. Its exquisite and unique plum blossom scenery has attracted countless poets and poets to enjoy plum blossoms, recite poems and carve monuments here. It is really a big landscape.
