Yanjiu Festival is the birthday of Qiu Chuji, the headmaster of Quanzhen Taoism, on the 19th day of the first lunar month. It is also known as "Yanjiu", "Yanjiu", "Yanjiu" and "Yanqiu". Qiu Xuanqing (Qiu Yuanjing) also held the Nine Eunuch Festival on the 19th day of the first lunar month. This festival was still very popular in Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty. In the early morning, people looked for a boy with a pretty face like a girl near Baiyun Temple, saying that he was the reincarnation of Qiu Xuanqing.
According to unofficial records, Qiu Xuanqing (Qiu Yuanjing) was related to a major festival in the capital at that time. It is said that Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty gave Qiu Xuanqing two maids. Although they could not resist the decree, Qiu Xuanqing left the palace on the 19th of the first lunar month. This day was named Eunuch Jiujie, which was later confused with Qiu Chuji's birthday "Yan Jiujie". Stories in this area can embody the precepts of Quanzhen Tao.
