Western poetry originated in Greece, and its early days were mainly narrative poems and philosophical epics. They use poetry to tell stories and legends to attract people, which is of course the main reason for its early prosperity. Mainly: Homer, Tasso, Dante, etc. Later, it flourished because of the romanticism of Byron and Shelley.
