The story of scrutiny

One day, Jia Dao, a young poet from the Tang Dynasty, went to Chang'an to take an exam. He was riding a donkey and thinking about his verses as he walked on the street. Suddenly, he thought of two lines of good poetry: "The bird stayed in the tree beside the pond, and the monk pushed the moon to the door." After another thought, he felt that it would be better to change the word "push" to the word "knock". When he was thinking deeply, He only heard a shout from the other side: "What are you doing?" Before he could figure out what was going on, he was pulled off the donkey and brought to Han Yu.

It turned out that he met the great writer Han Yu and his entourage. After Jia Dao told the story, not only was he not punished, but he aroused Han Yu's interest in poetry. Han Yu thought for a while, "It's better to type. On a quiet night, under the moonlight, a monk knocks on the door. This scene is very beautiful." So the word "push" was changed to the word "knock". Later, "deliberation" became the meaning of repeated consideration.
