Guo Feng Feng Wang Li Shu is a poem in The Book of Songs, the first poetry collection in ancient China. According to records, this poem is a folk song circulating in Luoyi, the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, to express people's sigh about the rise and fall of their country. The whole poem is divided into three parts, each part is 1 chapter, and one chapter is 10 with 39 words. Do not underestimate these 39 words, because they will appear repeatedly in the last two chapters of the poem.
The original text is as follows:
He is separated from Xiaomi. He is a seedling of Xiaomi. The line is decadent and the center is shaken. Those who know me make me worry, and those who don't know me make me want. Heaven is long! Who is this?
Millet is separated, and the ears of millet are separated. Walking is decadent and the center is drunk. Those who know me make me worry, and those who don't know me make me want. Heaven is long! Who is this?
The separation of millet is the reality of millet. Walking decadent, center suffocation. Those who know me make me worry, and those who don't know me make me want. Heaven is long! Who is this?
Only the words "Miao", "Sui", "Shi", "Drunk" and "Choke" are not repeated in the whole poem, and the rest are repeated. According to experts, the reason why the author writes like this is not because he is lazy, but to emphasize. As for what the author wants to emphasize, we should start with the background of this poem, that is, the late Western Zhou Dynasty. At that time, the monarch Zhou Youwang died, and he had to attack the empress when he was at home and abroad. God was defeated, so he contacted Yi Xi Dijon to attack Zhou Youwang. As a result, the Western Zhou Dynasty perished and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty was established in 770 AD.
Many years later, a minister of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty went to Haojing, the old capital. He saw that the millet was flourishing, the sorghum field was blue, and the old wall of the old capital Haojing had turned into rubble. Then, a strong feeling of old country lingered in his chest, and he casually wrote this song "Guo Feng Feng Wang Mi Li". There is a description of this matter in Preface to Mao Shi: Dr. Zhou went out to war, but as for the Western Zhou Dynasty, he passed through the Imperial Palace, all for the sake of whole grains, and Min's subversion, but he couldn't bear to go, but he wrote a poem.
In fact, after Zhou Pingwang, the founding monarch of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, moved to Luoyang, the royal family of the Zhou Dynasty declined completely. He is just a puppet monarch established by a vassal. At that time, the Eastern Zhou Dynasty was no longer the king who looked down on all the vassal States, and it was no different from the general vassal States. Therefore, the poems after the Eastern Zhou Dynasty moved its capital to Luoyang City are all called "Feng Wang", which is the poems of the kingdom, just like the poems of the vassal states.
In fact, the literati class in ancient China was the most patriotic. They want nothing but the prosperity of the country and the prosperity of the nation. However, once the country dies, they will "think about the past and feel the vicissitudes of life."
