The history of repentance

From 65438 to 0958, Robert Lowell, an American poet, published a collection of poems and essays, which set off a "confession fever" in the poetry world and became the founder of the "confession school". Another poet, John Bhajman's poems published in 1953 tend to be confession poems, and the Song of Dreams, which he wrote in 10, became a famous confession poem. Sylvia Plath and Ann sexton are famous confessional poets.

At that time, American society was in a turbulent period, and traditional academic poetry was a great constraint on people's creation. Many poets are in a state of nowhere to vent their inner feelings and emotions because of their social environment and creative environment. As a result, various schools of poetry, like hippies in those days, appeared and grew rapidly. After painful reflection, Lowell put all kinds of contradictions reflected in reality and culture in his heart and "frankly confided the loss of personality". Lowell and Boehlmann, two competing confession experts, made confession a peak in Qian Shan. Lowell's poetry seminar at Boston University played an indelible role in promoting Confessions. The appearance of sexton and Plath, the famous poetesss, is like planting a beautiful flag at the peak of the confessional school, announcing the highest achievement of this school's creation.
