The function is to deepen the impression, render the atmosphere, deepen the main body of the poem, enhance the musicality and rhythm of the poem, and let the feelings be expressed heartily. Overlapping means that sentences with the same meaning overlap back and forth. It is often used to express the strong feelings of the characters, giving people the feeling of "a hundred turns and a thousand turns" and "three days around the beam". Making good use of overlapping sentences can make the works have strong artistic charm.
It first appeared in The Book of Songs in China's literary history, and was widely used in later literary and musical works.
