The author comments
James Stephens is an Irish novelist and poet. Many of his works tell Irish fairy tales in a brand-new way, full of humor and lyrical at the same time. Several of his original novels are also inspired by Irish fairy tales. "Golden Jar" is even more enduring, and it is constantly praised by future generations. His works have largely preserved Irish cultural characteristics, conveyed Irish customs to readers and recorded a great turning point in Ireland. Today, we can still find his works in the Writers Museum in downtown Dublin.
