The four masters of Yuan Qu refer to Guan Hanqing, Bai Pu, Zheng Guangzu and Ma Zhiyuan. They represent the achievements of different schools of zaju creation in different periods of the Yuan Dynasty, so they are called "four masters of late Shen Yuan Qu".
Guan Hanqing, whose real name is Zhai, is also a Zhai. Han Qing is his word, and he is a famous drama master in Yuan Dynasty. Born in the late Jin Dynasty (about 1229- 124 1) and died in the early years of Yuan Chengzong Dade (about 1300). He wrote as many as 67 plays, as well as many Sanqu and divertimento in his life. Up to now, there are still 18 scripts and 100 Sanqu handed down. These eighteen plays are: Yu Jing Tai by Wen Taizhen, Feng Yue Save the Dust by Zhao, Xie Tianxiang by Qian, Three Explorations of Butterfly Dreams by Bao, Killing Lu Zhailang by Bao, Appreciating the Pool by Du Ruiniang, Unfair on Earth and Mid-Autumn Festival by Wang Jiangting.
Bai Pu, whose original name was Heng, whose word was Renfu, and later changed his name to Park, was born in Yizhou (now Hequ, Shanxi). Born in Jin Aizong Zheng Da for three years (1226) and lived in Dade Town, Yuan Chengzong for ten years (1306). Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown. Bai Pu played a more important role in the creation of Yuan Zaju. He, Guan Hanqing, Ma Zhiyuan and Zheng Guangzu have always been regarded as the four masters of Yuan Zaju. According to Zhong Sicheng's Ghost Record, Bai Pu wrote 65,438+05 kinds of plays, namely: Autumn Night Rain by Tang, The Story of Dong Xiuying's Flower Moon East Wall, Tang's Visit to the Moon Palace, Han Yuliu's Red Leaves, and Xue Qiongxi's Moonlit Night. Plus the remnants of "Li Keyong's Arrow Shooting Two Carvings" recorded in "Shi Sheng Xinsheng", * * * * 16 volumes. At present, there are only three kinds of Night Rain in Tang Autumn, Dong Xiuying's Flowers on the East Wall and Pei's Head on the Wall, as well as the remnants of Red Leaves in Han Dynasty and Li Keyong's Two Carvings with Arrows, all of which are included in Wang Wencai Collating Baipu Plays.
