Why is Schopenhauer called "the greatest dream destroyer in human history" by Mo Bosang?

Man and the universe are one, so man is not suppressed by the boundless universe. All inanimate things add up to "I", and nothing exists outside "I".

Life is like a pendulum between pain and boredom: when you need to work to survive, you are miserable; When your basic needs are met, you will feel bored.

Schopenhauer believes that the essence of life is pain. Life is doomed to pain, first of all, because people can't escape death. The greatest fear in life comes from the fear of death. He said that life is like blowing soap bubbles. Although you know it must explode, you should blow it as much as possible and blow it up a little. Schopenhauer also compared life itself to an ocean full of reefs and eddies. Life is like sailing in a rough sea. Although he always tries his best to avoid reefs and eddies carefully, what awaits him in the end is an inevitable "sunken ship", that is, "death". Life is like this, isn't it painful?

So can giving up this rational thinking save the pain of life? I can't. Because the root of pain lies in will rather than reason. The essence of will is blind desire and irresistible impulse. When the desire is not satisfied, people feel pain; And a desire is satisfied, what is left for people? Schopenhauer believes that the realization of wishes will soon be saturated: the goal exists in name only: having something means losing charm. "Desire is such a thing, but its satisfaction is always temporary and limited. Schopenhauer pointed out that new desires follow, and desires always satisfy one and cause ten, which is endless, so desires will never be satisfied, and it is also painful. Pain is inevitable in life. Schopenhauer believes that life is like a pendulum, swinging between pain and boredom, which are the last two components of life.
