Heaven and earth are in harmony, where do mountains come from?

This poem comes from Yuefu folk song "Regret for the Past" in Han Dynasty. The full text of this poem is as follows:

Evil (y)! I want to know you and live a long life.

There is no mausoleum in the mountain (líng), the river is exhausted, there is Lei Zhen in winter, and there is snow in summer (Yu). Heaven and earth are one, dare to be with you!

Vernacular translation

Oh, my god I am eager to know you and cherish you, and my heart will never fade.

Unless the majestic mountains disappear,

Unless the raging river dries up.

Unless thunder rolls in the cold winter,

Unless it is hot and snowy,

Unless heaven and earth intersect and converge,

I dare to abandon my good feelings for you!

Extended data:

Regret for the Past is one of the Eighteen Poems of Gui, which belongs to Yuefu prose songs. Shang Xie is a love song, and it is the self-declaration of the heroine's loyal love. This poem uses five impossible things in the following sentence "There is no grave on the mountain" to express its immortal love, which is full of rock-firm belief and fiery passion.

The whole poem accurately expresses the unique absolute psychology of people in love, which is novel and pungent, affectionate and whimsical, bold and touching, and is known as "a masterpiece in just one chapter".

Shang Yang had a great influence on later generations. The Bodhisattva Man in Dunhuang Quzi Ci is obviously inspired by him in ideological content and artistic expression: "I want to rest before my pillow and wait for the green hills to rot." Fish scales floated on the water until the Yellow River dried up completely. In the daytime, when Beidou returns to the south, he can't rest, and he can't see the sun until the third night. "Not only the pursuit of loyal and single-minded love and happiness is the same, but also the constant use of various impossibilities to explain an impossible artistic conception is exactly the same.
