His main works include Lyric Poem Collection (168), Wedding Poem (1616) which reflects the interest of court life, fairy tale poems and Bagpipes (162) which describes pastoral life.
The long poem adonis (1623) is his famous work. The whole poem ***2 songs. Based on Roman mythology, it describes that Venus, the goddess, adores adonis, a beautiful teenager, and is retaliated by Mars, the god of war. He weaved many stories, interspersed with twists and turns, and used metaphors, antithesis and exaggeration to carve words and pursue gorgeous forms. His poems reflect the interest of the aristocratic class during the decline of Italian literature in the 17th century. Since then, the "marino School of Poetry" which embodies this style has been popular in Italy for a while.
