Tongshan Liuquan Palace of Qianlong Palace in Xuzhou

The palace at Liuquan in Tongshan was built in the 40th year of Qianlong (1775) and destroyed in the 7th year of Xianfeng (1878). Some scholars believe that Qianlong chose this route to, firstly, appreciate Qilu culture, worship Confucius, and follow the path of a saint; secondly, to better understand the feelings of Shandong and Jiangsu; and thirdly, to gain support from people in this area. Of course, the beautiful scenery of Maling Mountain is also an important factor.

Here, Emperor Qianlong climbed Maling Mountain three times and wrote poems such as "The first benefit of spring is the beauty of mountains and rivers."

In the "Three Poems on Dong'ao Mountain" written by Qianlong, one of the poems reads: "The green fields and green hills on the plains point to the small pair of houses with a happy meaning. Zhong Wu Man Dao Cai Quan Shi, early "How beautiful is the country" vividly praises the beauty of Maling Mountain.

Today, only the foundation of the Qianlong Palace in Dayingding, Xinyi remains, and the stone plaque "Reading and Cooking Spring Tea" written by Liu Yong, a great scholar of the Qianlong Dynasty (later unearthed) is still well preserved.
