Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous County is located in the south-central part of Yunnan Province, and its geographical coordinates are10139' ~102 22' and 2318' ~ 23 55' north latitude. Shiping County in the east, Honghe County in the south, mojiang hani autonomous county in the west and Xinping County in the north.
It is 220km away from Kunming, the provincial capital, and 132km away from Yuxi City, with an area of 2858km2. It has jurisdiction over 10 townships (streets) and 8 1 village (community).
The Historical Evolution of Yuanjiang County
Before 109 BC, Yuanjiang county was the territory of Meng Daguang, an ancient Dai country. In Shu Han and Western Jin Dynasty, it was called the compass point and belonged to Xinggu County.
During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Butou was a famous place, belonging to Lizhou.
Dali in Song Dynasty was named after the far part and the pen-writing shop, which belonged to Weiyuan eyelid treatment.
In the first year of Yuan Dynasty (1264), Compass was attached to Yuanjiang Road.
In the second year of Zhiyuan (1265), it was changed to Yuanjiang House.
In the 25th year of Zhiyuan (1288), it was changed to Yuanjiang Road.
In the 15th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1382), Yuanjiang House was established.
In the thirty-fifth year of Qingganlong (1770), it was changed to Yuanjiang Zhili Prefecture.
