Do Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen have a good relationship?

Yuan Zhen was born in Luoyang. He was gifted and enlightened at the age of fifteen. Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi were good friends of adversity and * * *, and their feelings and intentions were among the literati at that time. They met in the 19th year of Zhenyuan (803). At that time, Bai Juyi had Bai Yun (Bai Juyi's Collection, 187). At the beginning of the poem, he said, "I remember I was a new student in Zhenyuan. My name was given that day, and I know everything. " Then he made a note for himself: "In Zhenyuan, Wei Zhi and I went to the first place and were awarded the secretary of the provincial school before we met." Bai Juyi is seven years older than Yuan Zhen, Bai Juyi is thirty-two years old and Yuan Zhen is twenty-five.

Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen had similar experiences:

In 803, the book was awarded to Emperor Kedengdi and the school book lang.

In 809, Bai Juyi served as Zuo Shiyi and a bachelor of Hanlin in Chang 'an. Yuan Zhen was appointed as a supervisor.

In 8 10, Bai Juyi changed Jing to Hu Cao to join the army; Yuan Zhen demoted Jiangling scholar Cao Congjun.

In 8 15, Bai Juyi was demoted to Jiangzhou Sima; Yuan Zhen was awarded Tongzhou Sima.

In 820, Bai Juyi was a visiting doctor in Chang 'an. Yuan Zhen was appointed as the ancestral temple doctor.

In 829, 58-year-old Bai Juyi gave birth to Cui; Yuan Zhen gave birth to Bao Dao.

Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen took the joint exam, served together in Korea, and were demoted in the same year. They had children in the same year, and similar experiences and literary attainments closely linked them. After the two became close friends, no matter who and where, giving, sending, giving, singing, making peace and answering poems always continued. In the second year of Yamato (828), * * * compiled Bai Yuan's 17-volume Collection of Yin Ji.

Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen exchanged the most poems. Let's take a look at their sincere friendship.

In August of the 10th year of Yuanhe (8 15), Bai Juyi was treated unfairly and was demoted to Jiangzhou Sima. He is very depressed and sad, and often can't sleep at night. He always reads Yuan Zhen's poems on the boat to Jiangzhou to comfort his wounded heart. In "Reading Nine Yuan Songs on the Ship", he wrote: "The lamp has not been rolled, and your poems have been read." When the eye pain lamp goes out, it still sits in the dark, and the wind blows against the waves. "Bai Juyi expressed in his poems that he read Yuan Zhen's poems all night with" lamp residue "and" eye pain ". Although he didn't write down his thoughts after reading, he finally sat alone in the dark listening to the wind and waves and expressed his sadness by creating an atmosphere.

In August of Yuanhe ten years, Bai Juyi was demoted to Jiangzhou. Bai Juyi was demoted to Jiangzhou for five months at the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, and was demoted to TongzhouCima in March this year. When he arrived in Tongzhou, he was ill. After hearing the news that his best friend was demoted, he was shocked and sat in bed at night. The poem "Wenle Tianshou Jiangzhou Sima" wrote: "The residual lamp has no flame shadow. I heard that you are in Jiujiang this evening. Sitting up in a dying dream, the black wind blows the rain and hits the cold window. " Soon, Bai Juyi received this poem and was immediately moved by the concern of his friends. In his letter to Yuan Zhen, he said with emotion: "This poem will move irrelevant people to read it, let alone me. Until now, whenever I see it, my heart will be unbearable "(see Wei Shu, page 433). Yuan Zhen cried immediately after receiving Bai Juyi's letter, scaring his wife and daughter into panic and thinking that something had happened. He wrote in the poem "The Book of Pleasure": "There are tears at the beginning of the letter, and the wife is surprised that the daughter cries and asks questions. Abnormal coma, it should be Jiangzhou Sima Shu. " You see, these two "Tianya reduced people" who were expelled from Beijing comforted each other in their difficulties. Love, kindness, pity and love are like brothers!

The most legendary is that Yuan Zhen went to Dongchuan for business in the fourth year of Yuan He (809), and Bai Juyi was still in Chang 'an. It seems that two people are "but I feel the harmonious heartbeat of the sacred unicorn", and they each wrote a poem on this day. Yuan Zhen just arrived in Liangzhou. He said in his poem: "Dream Jun swam around Qujiang Head to Ci 'en Courtyard. The official of the museum called the horse to send it, and suddenly he was surprised by Gu Liangzhou. "The poem says that Yuan Zhen dreamed of Bai Juyi at night, and Li and Bai Xingjian went to Qujiang to play together. On this day, Bai Juyi and other three people really went to Qujiang to play. When they were drinking, they thought of Yuan Zhen. Bai Juyi wrote the poem "Drunk with Li Eleven (that is, Li) remembering Yuan Jiu": "When you spend flowers, you are drunk and break the spring sorrow, and you are drunk and break the branches into wine. I suddenly remembered my old friend, went to heaven, and went to Liangzhou today. "Bai Juyi is very accurate, and Yuan Zhen really arrived in Liangzhou that day. Chang 'an and Liangzhou are separated by mountains and rivers, and the psychological induction of Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen is so consistent that it can't be said that it is an anecdote through the ages.

From some seemingly small details, we can highlight the sincere feelings between the two.

In the fifth year of Yuanhe (8 10), Bai Juyi was replaced by Cao, an official of Jingzhao government, and still served as a bachelor of Hanlin. In Luoyang, Yuan Zhen was recalled to Chang 'an for exposing the family crimes committed by He Nanyin at that time, which caused dissatisfaction among the authorities. Passing Huayin Fushui Post Station, Liu Shiyuan and Yuan Zhen fought for the post station room. Yuan Zhen was humiliated and demoted to join the army, becoming a scholar Cao in Jiangling Prefecture. One day, Bai Juyi suddenly missed Yuan Zhen at the Forbidden City Night Show, so he wrote "The Forbidden City Night Show and Yuan Zhen": "There are two papers in my heart, and I want to reread them slowly. After the first dawn of the fifth palace, a small window lamp is about to go out. " Yuan Zhen was humiliated and degraded, and was treated unfairly. Can Bai Juyi not care? He wrote thousands of words on the stationery, for fear that there was something missing, so he reread the written letter before putting it in the envelope. It can be said that the nuances really tell the truth!

Yuan Zhen is always worried about Bai Juyi. In the three years that Bai Juyi was worried about his mother, Yuan Zhen never gave Bai Juyi less support. Bai Juyi praised Yuan Zhen's "heart is as hard as stone", which means that Yuan Zhen will never change his mind under any circumstances.

Writing poems for friends shows extraordinary intimacy. This is the relationship between Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen. In the fourth year of Changqing (824), Yuan Zhen compiled Bai Juyi's poems into 50 volumes, named Bai Juyi's Changqing Collection, which played an irreplaceable role in the spread of Bai Juyi's poems.

In the third year of Daiwa (829), at the end of March, Bai Juyi no longer served as assistant minister of punishments and divided the capital with the guests of the Prince. In September, Yuan Zhen observed Zuo Cheng, the envoy who moved to Shangshu from eastern Zhejiang, and passed through Luoyang on his way back to Chang 'an. They met very affectionately and had endless trust. When he left, Yuan Zhen left two poems: "You should blame me for staying so long, and I want to say goodbye to you. White-headed couples are becoming scarce, and I am afraid that you will not have this joy tomorrow. " "I don't know you came three times, this time with a white old moustache. Will you see me later instead of going to the meeting? " When Yuan Zhen finished writing these two poems, he burst into tears and left hand in hand. Bai Juyi was in tears and couldn't bear to leave. As for what Yuan Zhen said in his poem, Bai Juyi was uneasy, and he was afraid of any accident.

On July 22nd, the fifth year of Daiwa, Yuan Zhen died suddenly at the age of 53. When the bad news reached Luoyang, Bai Juyi "lost his feelings for a long time", and then look at two poems left by Yuan Zhen two years ago, "the implication is like this". Bai Juyi's The Sight of Poets is even more sad. In August of this year, Yuan Zhen's coffin was transported to Luoyang, and Bai Juyi personally went to the coffin to pay homage, and made two lamentations with the eulogy. "In August, the cool breeze blew the white curtain, and I cried in the porch. My wife, relatives and friends came to condolence and realized that God knew nothing. " The second is: "The article is invincible, and the spirit of character is dead. I cried and sent it to Xianyang Beiyuan, and there may be dust behind it. " (See "Collected Works of Bai Juyi", page 952, "Sacrificing to the Micro")

In July of the sixth year of Daiwa, Yuan Zhen was buried in Xianyang, and Bai Juyi personally wrote an epitaph for him. Since the death of Yuan Zhen, Bai Juyi has never stopped thinking about him. Ten years later, Bai Juyi, who was in his seventies, saw the chorus poems of Lu and Yuan Zhen in his friend Lu one day. He felt sorry for the past and couldn't help crying, so he dipped in ink and wrote such a poem in the last blank of the collection of poems: "I have heard about Yuan Jiuyong's poems for a long time, and I wish I could know Jun Lu later. Today, every gentleman opened an ancient scroll, and many channels on the scroll sent it out. It's hard to say when you look into your eyes with tears. Don't be sad. I heard that the trees on Xianyang's grave smoked three poplars! At night, I will join hands with my dreams, and in the morning, I will have tears in my eyes. " (See page115 of the Complete Works of Bai Juyi, Reading Old Poems from Lu ... because it was given to Mencius, it was inscribed at the back of the volume.).

The friendship between Bai Juyi and Yuan Zhen is self-evident. Thirty years of life and death, 900 chapters of songs and poems. "Two people" start with poetry and end with poetry "(see page 952 of Sacrifice to Wei), and their inseparable friendship is not weakened by political differences. They get along well and seek common ground while reserving differences, which should be a model for future generations to learn.
