Tao Xingzhi (189 1- 1946), a native of Shexian county, Anhui province, was a great people's educator in the history of modern education in China and a pioneer and founder of preschool education for workers and peasants in China. 19 13 graduated from Jinling university, and 19 14 successively studied at the university of Illinois and Columbia university, and obtained a master's degree in political science.
During my study at Columbia University, I studied under the famous educators Dewey and Meng Lu. After returning to China, he served as a professor, director of education and director of China Education Improvement Society. He devoted his life to civilian education and rural education movement.
Xiaozhuang Normal School and Yanziji Central Kindergarten were founded in 1927.
