There are only four words in the whole work, two of which are modal particles, which are equivalent to the words "ah" and "ya" in modern Chinese. Only the remaining two notional words directly express the singer's thoughts: waiting for you.

Tracing back to its name, Song of Waiting for People is called the beginning of Nanyin. This poem is the first recorded love poem in China, and it has also become the standard of specifications and temperament of love poems. Therefore, Tu Shan and Nv Jiao became the poetic gods in ancient China mythology. Later, the word "Xi" was used in The Book of Songs and Songs of the South, which was obviously influenced by this song.
There is a saying that "Nanyin leads to its source, and Chu Ci prospers its flow", and later Han Fu is also in the same strain. The poems in the Book of Songs, National Style, which are "happy but not obscene, sad but not hurt", can be regarded as influenced by this poem. Since then, the love poems in the pre-Qin period have become a magnificent sight, and the poems in the Zhou Dynasty have been adopted.
The person waiting is Tu Shanshi, and the person waiting is the famous water control hero Yu.
