Synopsis of story:
Mary was born into a noble family and lived in India with her parents since childhood. Mary was arrogant and eccentric since she was a child because her parents were keen on all kinds of parties and neglected management. An earthquake took away Mary's parents, so she had to come to England alone and wait for her family to adopt her.
Mary followed the serious housekeeper medlock to her uncle's house. Before that, she didn't know that there was menstruation in this world, and this menstruation and her mother were twin sisters. But unfortunately, menstruation left this world as early as ten years ago. After that, my uncle never recovered. In order to avoid thinking about things, my uncle often doesn't travel at home, which adds to my uncle's mystery.
Mary came to her uncle's Missy Sweet Manor. In this mysterious and dark castle, Mary often hears children crying. Curious Mary looked around and found her cousin Green ill in bed. It turned out that Green was a premature baby and sickly, and his mother died shortly after he was born. My father was afraid that he would think of his wife when he saw him, so he told his servant to take good care of Green, but he seldom appeared in front of Green. Green is excited about Mary's arrival, but medlock is worried that Mary will make Green's illness worse, so he always stops them from seeing each other.
At the back of the castle, there is a mysterious garden. Mary happened to find the entrance of the garden. According to the servant, menstruation accidentally fell down and died while playing on the swing in the garden, so his grieving uncle ordered the garden to be closed and no one was allowed to enter. But in Mary's view, it is a pity that such a beautiful garden has been abandoned. Mary planted many beautiful flowers in the garden with the help of her little servant Kevin. Only when spring comes will the garden take on a new look.
Encouraged by Mary, Green got up the courage to go out of the house for the first time. In fact, Green is not ill, but weak. At the request of the housekeeper and doctor, he has been in bed for many years. Green had no idea what the outside world was like before. He didn't even open the window. But when he came outside the castle, he found that the world was so beautiful. Kevin and Mary helped Green take the first step in his life. The excited Green made a wish to let his father see his change earlier.
Perhaps, somehow, Green's mother heard her son's call, and her soul hinted that her husband would let him go home as soon as possible. Green's father got a call from his wife and was eager to get home overnight. In the garden, he found his son and his friends who were ill in bed running and playing on the grass. He couldn't believe his eyes. Since then, this gloomy castle has returned to its appearance ten years ago, full of children's laughter. Mary also felt that she had suddenly grown up and lived happily with her uncle and cousin.
