Last week, I showed you the testimony of Xiao Min, a rural girl in China who wrote poems. I believe everyone is very touched. After listening to this, the author's first feeling is that God deliberately raised a young man with "low academic level" to write touching poems. First of all, he wants to tell Christians all over the world that if God can't find a vessel to share, he can raise an uneducated, inexperienced and despised young man and use his vessel greatly. Let other learned and experienced people feel ashamed.
Secondly, I think God loves China and wants to save China from the "new poems" popular in various churches today, because these new poems are neither informative nor touching, and some of them are actually written by unbelievers. In order to flood the market, it is only because of the "new poetry fever" among today's church young people. The author believes that the spirituality of the general meeting has been low in the past decade, and these "new poems" are largely responsible. Church leaders who brought the popular "new poetry" into the church found it more difficult to pay their bills to God.
I'm not against "new poetry" unilaterally. Look, isn't this poem written by Xiao Min brand new? But any living Christian, as soon as he heard it, heard that the message brought by the Holy Spirit through her could not be erased. The Holy Spirit left us with "poems", not tones. What are "pigeons calling for silence in the distance" and "lilies calling"? No one knows how these songs are sung. It can be seen that the Holy Spirit believes that poetry, not tone, helps us. However, is the tune completely unimportant? No, since music is used to set off poetry, it is of course very important. Otherwise, why not read, but sing? However, even the tone must be moved by the Holy Spirit before it can be written, and it can be perfectly matched. On the contrary, some tunes have the opposite effect. Just like some western popular hymns, the original sound is the same, but they have been rewritten as "poems shouted by jazz or rock music", which greatly destroyed the original intention of poetry.
I'm really looking forward to this friendship. Be careful when choosing poems in the future. Don't just choose to sing because you are "new" and "proud" and teach others to sing. When we sing a poem, if the poem is written under the influence of the Holy Spirit, then after singing, we will be moved not only in our hearts, but also in the vast audience. The testimony of the holy spirit running in the congregation is the best evidence to prove poetry. I hope that each of us can follow the Holy Spirit in everything, such as serving, attending parties, offering, meeting, loving, singing, preaching and praying. In this way, the church will be full of vitality and grow in Christ.
Xiao Min's poems touched and inspired thousands of saints in China, because she wrote them not only with musical genius, but also with "suffering heart". She did not seek fame or profit, but "spread the gospel throughout China". This simple heart for the Lord should be imitated by you and me.
