Quxian County is located in the transition zone between the parallel ridge and valley areas in eastern Sichuan and the purple hilly areas in central Sichuan, with a subtropical monsoon climate and a total area of 20 18.37 square kilometers.

Quxian County is located in the east of Sichuan Basin, on the west side of the northern section of Huaying Mountain, and it belongs to the transition zone between the parallel ridge and valley areas in east Sichuan and the purple hilly areas in middle Sichuan. It is connected to Dazhu County in the east, yingshan county and Peng 'an County in the west, Dachuan District of Dazhou City and Pingchang County of Bazhong City in the north, and Guang 'an District and Qianfeng District of Guang 'an City in Nantong.
It is 36 kilometers wide from east to west, 55.55 kilometers long from north to south, and the total length of the border line is 283.5 kilometers. Geographical coordinates are between 30 38 ′-316 ′ north latitude and106 36 ′-10715 ′ east longitude. The area is 20 18.37 square kilometers.
Quxian county is surrounded by mountains in the east, west and north, with a height of 222- 1 196.2 meters above sea level, a relative height difference of 974.2 meters and an average elevation of 360 meters. Most areas are below 500 meters.
The exposed strata in Quxian County are all distributed from Triassic to Quaternary except Cretaceous and Tertiary due to discontinuous sedimentation, among which Jurassic red continental strata are the most widely distributed. The hills in the county account for 60% of the total area, the low mountains account for 29. 1%, and the valley terraces account for 10.9%. The average elevation in the east of the county is over 800 meters, and the elevation of Wan Li Ping, which borders Longtan Township in Dongan, is 1 196.2 meters, which is the highest peak in Quxian County.
