The number one male host - Liu Xi
A 17-year-old freshman went to CCTV to "challenge" the host
Recently, the class of 2002 from the School of Liberal Arts of Wuhan University of Technology Freshman Liu Xi received a notice from CCTV that he will go to Beijing on October 26 to participate in the recording of CCTV's famous program - "Challenge the Host". Prior to this, Liu Xi had passed the preliminary round with excellent results at the registration point of the program's School of Journalism at Wuhan University (18 people were hired nationwide for this program, and 3 people were from Hubei). After arriving in Beijing, she will be under the guidance of the program director. Training and selection took place over a week.
Liu Xi’s family is in Huangshi, and her parents work in the library. They are both very quiet people. There are usually books everywhere at home, and the rich cultural atmosphere gave him a strong infection, and also laid the "foreshadowing" for him to achieve good results in all aspects in the future.
“In terms of personality, my parents and I are exactly the opposite.” Liu Xi’s self-evaluation—cheerful, lively, and expressive. Since childhood, Liu Xi has studied violin, electronic keyboard, and piano under the guidance of her parents. In the third year of junior high school, the "sharp corners" were already exposed, and the electronic keyboard passed the professional level 10 (top) assessment.
As soon as he entered high school, Liu Xi became a disciple of a famous local announcer and began to learn professional knowledge related to broadcasting and hosting. After three years of hard work, he already has a solid professional foundation. Huangshi TV also invited him to do several programs, and he became a "little celebrity" in the local area. In his senior year of high school, his Mandarin proficiency test score was 97.0, and he was confirmed to be a first-class student.
Talking about the competitions he has participated in, Liu Xi smiled and said to reporters: "I thrive in competitions!" In his sophomore year of high school, at the age of 15, he walked out of Huangshi for the first time and was alone. One person came to Wuhan to participate in the "Lingyun Cup" Mandarin Competition organized by Hubei People's Broadcasting Station and won second place in the adult group. After that, various competitions followed one after another, and trophies were "delivered to the door" out of control. He has won the first prize in the 7th China "Holy Pottery Cup" Middle School Student Composition Competition, the first prize in the drama of the Huangshi Primary and Secondary School Art Competition, the second prize in the poetry category of the National Middle School Student Campus Literature Competition "Sail", and the "New Seedlings" Cup" National Middle School Student TV Program Hosting Competition Hubei Division New Seedling Award...
Before this year's college entrance examination, Liu Xi had already "knocked" on the door of the Beijing Broadcasting Institute's professional examination with excellent results. Unfortunately, because I was a few points behind in the cultural class, I had to pass by Beiguang, which I had always dreamed of. However, Liu Xi never gave up on her ideals. After entering Wuhan University of Technology, he found the East Campus Radio Station as a stage to train and showcase himself. In mid-September, while still participating in military training, under the guidance of his teacher, he came to the Hubei registration point for "Challenge Host" - the School of Journalism and Communication of Wuhan University to register. He said: "This program is a gathering place for new types of hosts. And starting point, I just want to give it a try and see what shortcomings and areas for improvement I have in my previous professional studies."
Liu Xi showed that he was able to stand out from more than 50 preliminary contestants. The 17-year-old boy did not have the stability and confidence: "It is no longer a personal honor for me to have the opportunity to go to Beijing to participate in this competition. I have parents and many friends around me who have been helping and caring for me. I feel so stressed now!" Although he kept complaining, he still had a "bad smile" on his face.
