A Brief Introduction of Jie Jiang, a Poet in Southern Song Dynasty

Jie Jiang (date of birth and death is unknown), whose name is Zhushan, was born in Chu Yang (now Yixing, Jiangsu) at the end of Song Dynasty. The ancestors were Yixing giants, and they were scholars in the tenth year of Xianchun (1274). When he died in the Southern Song Dynasty, he deeply felt the pain of national subjugation and lived in seclusion. He was called "Mr. Zhushan" and "Cherry Jinshi", and his integrity was valued by people of that time. He is good at ci, and he is also called "the four masters in the late Song Dynasty" with Zhou Mi, Wang Yisun and Zhang Yan. His poems mostly express the thoughts of the old country, the sorrow of mountains and rivers, and the styles are diverse, but they are mainly sad and handsome, and Xiao Liao is sparse and cool. In particular, his ingenious words are unique in the field of Ci poetry in Song Dynasty, including Zhushan Ci, which is included in Mao Jin's Sixty Famous Ci Poems in Song Dynasty and Jiangcun Series. There are also 2 volumes of Zhushan Ci, which are included in the sequel of Ci in Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties involving landscape.

Liu Xizai, a literary critic in the Qing Dynasty, said in his book "A Brief Introduction to Art": "Jiang Zhushan's ci is not extremely fluid and natural, but he is careful in washing and practicing, and his words are fruitful. His ambition is that Meixi (Shi Dazu) is more chaste, and his dream window (Wu Wenying) is clearer. Liu Wenfang (Liu Changqing) is the Great Wall with five words, and Zhushan is also the Great Wall with long and short sentences! " Jie Jiang's ci poems were regarded by the ancients as the statutes and standards of lyrics. Many ci poems show the author's nostalgia for the old country and express the loss of mountains and rivers. Such as: "This hatred is difficult to know whether Pingjun knows it or not, like a chess game in Qiongtai." "The red teeth of colored fans are all here today, and I hate that no one can understand Kaiyuan Qu". Jie Jiang's Young Mermaid Listening to the Rain, He Xinlang's Madness, and A Cut of Plums and a Boat Crossing Wujiang are all well-known masterpieces. There is a saying in "A Prune and a Boat Crossing Wujiang", so later generations call it "Cherry Jinshi". Jie Jiang's works such as Zhushan Ci and Detailed Breakdown of Primary School have been handed down from generation to generation. There are more than 9 words. Zhou Tie Town Zhushan has Jie Jiang's tomb.
