In an impetuous age, there is no master at all.
An era in which everyone claims to be a master is also an era in which pseudo-masters are rampant.
This is the misfortune of the times and the great fortune of personal destiny.
In the Middle Ages, Europe was in chaos, and a large number of artistic superstars such as Kepler, Dante, Harvey and Michelangelo appeared.
Since Mr. Qi Gong, it is difficult for China contemporary painting and calligraphy art circles to achieve both morality and art.
Either there is virtue that is unworthy, or there is virtue without talent, or there is no virtue without talent.
But orthodox painting and calligraphy have never lacked masters.
Some people boast that they are masters, some people pay people to brag, and some people flatter themselves for the benefit.
The market, painters and painters have jointly created a scene of artistic prosperity, which makes people dazzled and confused.
Calligraphy and painting, practitioners' professional level is uneven, and their moral literacy is high or low.
Because I have studied calligraphy with my teacher, I have not been engaged in literary creation in recent years, so I have some contact with people in the painting and calligraphy circle.
There are dozens and millions of people bragging about their paintings in front of everyone, some concentrate on painting and don't care about the world, and some are arrogant and arrogant in Wei and Jin Dynasties.
There are talented and learned people, and there are also people who fish in troubled waters and kidnap them.
After watching too much, I gradually stopped being obsessed with my external packaging.
I have always believed that artists and masters are among the people.
Forgive my humble opinion: Geng Cunsan is worthy of the title of folk master.
Contacting, communicating, talking and chatting with Mr. Geng is a process of enlightenment.
It is not unusual for a painter to tell you about Liu Haisu Xu Beihong, Picasso and Van Gogh, and to discuss the appreciation skills and painting skills of Chinese and Western paintings.
It is not unusual for a painter to tell you about the complementary relationship between calligraphy and painting, the difference between Buddhism and Christianity, and the similarities and differences between eastern buddhas and western gods.
A painter tells you about business management, business marketing, issues of the times, social hotspots, personal growth and moral folklore.
Mr. Murakami, a former corporate executive, marketing director of a listed company, scholar of calligraphy and painting, and diner, can take a walk to nourish his heart and sell his husband.
It's really like spring breeze to associate with it.
As a literary practitioner, Mr. Murakami's tortuous life experience, profound humanistic knowledge, solid painting skills and detached Buddhist and Taoist mentality are amazing.

Liu Qinghe:
Hello, Mr. Murakami. Nice to see you again. It's easier to meet and chat than to do an interview with you.
Geng Cunsan:
I'm very happy, too, and I appreciate your attention to me.
I don't like to make my name known. As a painter, I personally prefer to speak with my works.
Liu Qinghe:
Let's start with "Three-person Exhibition of Non-famous Painter Geng Cun". Why put the word "no" before the word "famous"?
Geng Cunsan:
This is an early art exhibition.
At that time, the organizer wanted to do poster promotion and asked me how to write it.
I wrote such a title, and we are not very famous. Adding a negative word is compromise.
Up to now, I have never said that I am a famous painter.
Liu Qinghe:
You are too modest. I guess this move should have something to do with your growing experience.
Geng Cunsan:
When I was young, I also had wild dreams. Every artist has some wildness in his bones.
Under the influence of my father, I learned to paint.
My father is a meticulous painter, graduated from high school and has a certain culture.
Liu Qinghe:
So you are an artistic family? Can you talk about the influence of parents and family on your career?
Geng Cunsan:
When I was a child, I just thought my father was very powerful. When the paint is mixed and the brush is brushed, a picture comes out. I thought it was amazing, so I took those things and drew them myself.
When I was nine years old, many friends sharpened it for me. Most of them copied the pictures of mustard seed orchard.
Father is a person who is particularly harsh on art, but also a person who loves cleanliness and pays attention to the laws of life.
At the same time, he was an orthodox national worker of that era.
My mother is a farmer, and kindness and hard work have accompanied her all her life.
My sister is also teaching art and drawing.
I am especially grateful to my parents for their words and deeds, especially for being a man.

Liu Qinghe:
How do you evaluate your parents?
Geng Cunsan:
Father was born in an untimely situation, and when he reaches middle age, he understands his father better.
It's a pity that he was born in the countryside, but he never complained and always lived optimistically.
My father's strictness in painting and kindness in my mother's life have a great influence on my character.
I am especially lucky to meet such a pair of parents.
Liu Qinghe:
On the road of art, who do you want to thank most besides your father?
Geng Cunsan:
There really is a teacher who has been dead for many years, Chen.
He is my middle school teacher and is very kind to me. He not only encouraged me to support my painting, but also gave me money, bought me things and supported me.
At that time, the conditions in the countryside and at home were not rich, so I was especially grateful to Mr. Chen for his support.
Unfortunately, the teacher died too early, and I miss him very much.
Without him, I might not be where I am today.
Liu Qinghe:
Can you briefly talk about your artistic experience?
Geng Cunsan:
During my college years, I studied painting and wanted to be an artist.
At that time, I wrote lyrics and was infatuated with Cui Jian, Zheng Jun and Lao Lang. They were quite rock singers.
After graduation, I found that the reality was cruel, so I made a living first and went to an enterprise in Beijing.
From employees to executives, I have almost traveled all over the country's big cities. Later, I had some physical problems and went back to Zhengzhou to recuperate. Later, the economy was well off. I picked up the brush again and have been sticking to it until now.
Liu Qinghe:
What influence did Beijing have on you during that time?
Geng Cunsan:
It was because of that experience in Beijing that I increased my knowledge and was no longer tempted by the outside world.
Only in this way can we calm down and engage in painting creation.

Liu Qinghe:
I know, your landscape painting is better, and the ancient town is the highlight of landscape painting. Why do you like painting ancient towns?
Geng Cunsan:
The ancient town has a history.
Pingyao, Fenghuang Ancient City, Wuzhen, Huangyao and Zhouzhuang, these famous ancient towns, I have been to and lived in.
When you are in it, you will feel the magic of nature.
Bridges, flowing water, roofs, beams, terraces, plaques, streets, slates and so on are all history, culture and art.
The unique charm of the ancient town itself will baptize your soul.
Walking on the stone bridge in the ancient town, walking in the alley of the bluestone slab, touching a wall, a tile, a table and a chair, you can make friends with the ancients and communicate with the world.
What is art?
Boats carrying people, old farmers cutting wheat and lush trees are all art, which can be poetry, prose and painting.
You should remember that artists should have a sense of mission and social responsibility.
Many people may not go that far in their whole lives, so we should let others feel the beauty in the distance and the magic of nature by watching our works.
It can be a movie, a drama, a book, a painting and calligraphy. ?
Liu Qinghe:
Compared with you, I feel ashamed. I don't have such a high sense of realm and mission.
Geng Cunsan:
This is everyone's fault. A work of art should be unique and unrepeatable. So what can be called a work of art?
A thoughtful work.
A painting without the author's thoughts in it can only be called a painting, not a work of art.
Liu Qinghe:
What is the difference?
Geng Cunsan:
Works of art, like ideas, can be circulated, such as Confucius and Mencius. Thousands of years later, it is still affecting our lives.
The Tao of Confucius and Mencius is itself a work of art, because it cannot be copied.
Liu Qinghe:
What do you think of today's painting and calligraphy industry after being taught?
Geng Cunsan:
Art is not an industry, nor can it be called an industry.
Art is a process of understanding and self-education, and art is a religion.
In the era of market economy, money can only measure the secular value of a work of art, which is closely related to people's aesthetic, moral bottom line and values.
In other words, art should not be measured by money.
The amount of money does not determine whether a work has circulation value.
Only time will tell.
Liu Qinghe:
Do you think this is a good time? Or what do you think of the times we live in today?
Geng Cunsan:
I don't think an era can be simply described as good or bad.
There are stray dogs in prosperous times and hedonists in troubled times.
There are many problems in this era, for example, the elderly are helpless, such as the gap between the rich and the poor, such as the solidification of the class, such as the abnormally high housing prices, such as the sky-high bride price.
Many ignorant people, for this reason, are not well now. After listening to several romantic love stories, I miss the Republic of China.
If we could go back in time and throw those people to the Republic of China, no one would go.
I was killed by accident, and my life was gone. What about poetry and distance?
I think the present era is an era in which as long as you work hard, you will gain something and even have the opportunity to change your destiny.
We should embrace this era, we should not reject it, let alone complain.

Liu Qinghe:
Do you have any comments or suggestions for young people to learn painting or make a living by painting?
Geng Cunsan:
Painters are elegant, but their livelihood is vulgar.
But a person, the first thing to solve is to eat.
Nowadays, the social and economic pressure is so great that unless you can settle down quietly and live in a busy city, you can achieve great success.
But with all due respect: nowadays, few young people can slow down and polish themselves.
I can't sink my heart, nor can I suffer.
If you can accept being poor all your life, stick to it. I believe that if we persist for ten or twenty years, we will certainly achieve something.
Liu Qinghe:
Then what do you want to say to young people now, especially after 90 s and 00 s?
Geng Cunsan:
I come from the 1970s, and my thoughts and experiences may be different from those of young people today. I can only give some advice as an elder or a teacher.
I think if individuals do well, the society will be fine.
Society is made up of everyone. Let's stop complaining. Everyone should do his own thing and help those around him who need help when he has spare time.
The earth is round, and your kindness will eventually be rewarded.
I am the Jianghu, and I am the altar.

Postscript:
A person who paints for fun and supplements himself.
Mr. Murakami sent me a very simple profile, and I told him that I could add more titles and reputations.
He replied: I am an ordinary painter.
A true master never shows his greatness by comparing with others.
Before each interview, I will send an outline of the interview content to the interviewee, and Mr. Murakami is also the only guest who writes a short answer by hand.
The paper written by Mr. Cunsan is not only his own calm thinking about the questions raised, but also his respect for myself and the whole interview team.
The most difficult thing to write in the world is not a propositional composition, but an untitled composition.
I have made an appointment for a personal interview with Mr. Murakami for no less than six times. The low-key teacher Murakami declined five times.
Finally, under my six appointments, I had an interview.
Moreover, save three teacher said bluntly:
Don't confine yourself to writing. Write according to your own thoughts and will. You are responsible for every word you say.
Like a thunder, and like a wake-up call, around the ear.
Mr. Murakami is often invited to give lectures in various places, and I have the honor of listening to it once. My professionalism, profound knowledge and free and easy platform remind me of the masters in the troubled times of the Republic of China decades ago.
Regardless of the image, a senior painter burst into tears in front of several young players. That scene is very sad.
Here, I also wish Mr. Chen that your students will not let you down.
The original title of this interview is "The Crazy Life of Geng Jie in Painting". Later, after reading it, Mr. Murakami wrote to me privately: take the crazy word away and replace it with Confucianism.
This feeling is amazing.
Thanks again to Mr. Murayama for accepting my exclusive interview in spite of his busy schedule.
