Liu Mengfu’s biography

Since childhood, my father Mr. Liu Fengwu (1894-1974, a librarian of the Anhui Provincial Literature and History Research Institute and a famous poet and lyricist) has been reciting Tang poetry and ancient prose, and practicing traditional poetry. From the 1980s to the 1990s, he studied under Mr. Kong Fanzhang, a librarian of the Central Research Institute of Literature and History and a famous poet, and sent letters to Mr. Qian Zhonglian, a master of Chinese studies. In the past twenty years, he has published more than a thousand poems in hundreds of newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad, and his works have been selected into more than 40 large-scale poetry collections and dictionaries. He has won the first prize in the "Li Du Cup" National Poetry Competition, the "Shuermei Cup" Youth and Middle-aged Poetry Competition, and the "Tan Sitong Cup" Chinese Poetry Competition; the "Ode to Return" Chinese Poetry Competition, the "Light of China" National Poetry Competition, Second prize in the "Red Bean Lovesickness Festival" Poetry Competition, "World Peace Cup" Global Chinese Poetry Competition, and "City Scenery" Poetry Competition; the first Chinese Poetry Competition, "Laolongkou Cup" domestic and overseas poetry competition, "Luming Cup" national Third prize in poetry competition and "Songshan Cup" National Poetry Competition. He has also won numerous excellence awards and masterpiece awards. He is good at both ancient style and rhythmic poems in five or seven characters; his lyrics are mostly written in long tones, and his style is both bold and euphemistic.
