"Rainy night to northern friends" is a poem written by rainy night to northern friends.
Author: Li Shangyin
When you ask about the return date, it's hard to say, evening rain, Manqiuchi.
When * * * cut the candle at the west window, but talk about the rain at night.
You asked me when I would go home, but I haven't set a date yet.
It rains heavily in Bashan tonight, and it rains in autumn pool.
When will you and I get together again and cut the candle flowers in the west window?
Tonight, I will tell you about the autumn rain, my painful feelings.
Appreciation of Short Messages to Friends in the North on a Rainy Night This is a poem by Li Shangyin, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This poem, in the form of question and answer, seems to be a simple dialogue, without flowery rhetoric, and gives people a simple feeling on the surface. However, close reading is profound in connotation and artistic conception, and full of yearning for relatives in hometown.
The artistic conception of this poem is very beautiful. Although it is about missing, there is not a word "love" between the lines. Reality and reality complement each other. For example, "late rain" is the actual scenery, while "* * * cutting the western window" is an illusory imagination.
Brief introduction of the author
Li Shangyin (about 813-about 858), a native of western Henan, was born in Hanoi, Huaizhou (now Qinyang County, Henan Province). A famous poet in the late Tang Dynasty, together with Du Mu, was called "Little Du Li".
In the second year of Kaicheng (837), he became a scholar, became a secretary of provincial studies, and moved to hongnong county, becoming the staff of Wang Maoyuan (father-in-law), the messenger of Jingyuan era. He was involved in the political whirlpool of "the dispute between Niu and Li", was excluded and had a rough life. At the end of the Middle Ages (about 858), he died in Zhengzhou.
Li Shangyin was one of the few poets who deliberately pursued the beauty of poetry in the late Tang Dynasty and even the whole Tang Dynasty. He is good at poetry writing, and parallel prose has high literary value. His poems are novel in conception and beautiful in style, especially some love poems and untitled poems are touching, beautiful and moving, and are widely read. However, some poems (represented by Jinse) are obscure and inseparable, and there is even a saying that "poets always love Quincy and hate that no one writes about Jian Zheng".
