Yuefu used to be the official position in charge of music in the Han Dynasty, but later it adopted a poem called ().

Yuefu poetry in Han Dynasty refers to the poems of Han Dynasty collected, sorted and preserved by the music organs set up by the imperial court, which can be sung in chorus. The original meaning of Yuefu refers to the musical organ set up by the imperial court. Music is music and officials are officials. Yuefu was set up in the Qin Dynasty, and Yuefu and Taiyue were set up in the Western Han Dynasty. Yuefu is in charge of pop music and Taiyue is in charge of elegant music. Yuefu was abolished in mourning for the emperor. Although there was no Yuefu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, there were Huangmen Xuanbu, a musical instrument equivalent to Yuefu, and Yu Tai Yuefu, a musical instrument equivalent to Taiyue. The function of Yuefu is not only to formulate music scores, train musicians, write lyrics and organize singing, but also to organize literati to create, collect and organize folk songs. Han people call the songs they sang together poems. In the Six Dynasties, people called Yuefu the choral poems collected, sorted out and preserved by Yuefu organs, and Yuefu changed from a musical organ to a poem name. Second, the preservation and classification of Han Yuefu poems

Yuefu poems in Han Dynasty are mainly preserved in Yuefu poems compiled by Guo Maoqian in Song Dynasty. Yuefu Poetry Collection records Yuefu poems from Han Dynasty to Tang and Five Dynasties, as well as pre-Qin ballads. The book 100 volume is the most complete collection of Yuefu poems. Guo Maoqian divided Yuefu poems into twelve categories: (1) Jiao Miao Ci, (2) She Yan Ci, (3) Advocacy Ci, (4) Transverse Blowing Ci, (5) Harmony Ci, (6) Shang Qing Ci, (7) Dance Ci, (8) Qin Qu Ci and (9). Among them, the poems of Han Yuefu are mainly preserved in suburban temple songs, preaching songs, harmony songs and miscellaneous songs, with the largest number of harmony songs.
