Skills of getting high marks in college entrance examination English composition

(1) When writing a narrative, there must be six elements: time, place, people, events, causes and effects, and it should be written clearly. When writing characters, we should pay attention to introducing their life stories, experiences and deeds. When narrating, we should describe what happened and the result of development, and write clearly the cause and effect of what happened.

When writing an argumentative essay, candidates are required to explain their views on a certain aspect of the problem by putting facts and reasoning. An argumentative essay should consist of three parts: argument, argument and argument.

(3) Writing letters is the main application of NMET English. Pay attention to the writing format when writing English letters, and the format must be correct. English letters are mainly composed of six parts, namely: header, address, title, body, conclusion and signature. The text of a letter, like writing an article, should be written in sections, and each paragraph should have a central idea.

First, be accurate to the point

Candidates should carefully examine the questions, read the requirements of the questions carefully, and have a good idea of the framework structure of the composition to be written. In particular, the increasingly advocated "open" composition requires candidates to give full play to the limited material content, and the genre can be varied, which requires candidates to be more targeted. When looking at the problem, be sure to do the following:

1. Define the genre of your composition. Written expression has provisions on genre, content and number of words. Whether it is words, charts, pictures and other tips, the writing genre requirements are certain. Is it narrative, explanation, discussion, or a combination of various expressions? We must grasp the genre of the article and establish our own writing format.

2. Find out the tenses used in writing. The most common mistake students make in writing is the mistake of tense expression. This is also a sign that candidates' language use ability is not enough. Therefore, when writing, we should first set the tone and tense of the composition.

3. Make clear the content and order of the composition. What should the composition express? How to express it? What to express first, then what to express? What's the point? These are the requirements that candidates must pay attention to when writing. The composition should be clear about priorities, express accurately, connect the preceding with the following, and not give people a general, vague and messy feeling.

Second, perfection.

A good article is like a house. First of all, the unique concept of structure will give people a bright feeling. Then, after entering the "house", elegant indoor "decoration" will also make people shine. The scoring standard of college entrance examination composition is divided into five basic grades. To achieve a good grade composition (2 1-25), you must complete the tasks specified in the test, cover all the main points, and use more grammatical structures and vocabulary (although there are some mistakes in grammar and vocabulary, they are all caused by "trying to use complex structures and advanced vocabulary"). In order to meet this requirement, we should do the following:

1. Use advanced vocabulary and sentence patterns reasonably to increase the highlights of the article and attract the attention of the marking teacher. A good composition should not only be fluent in expression and accurate in grammar, but also make use of some advanced vocabulary and sentence patterns to increase the "Chun Xue" of the article. For example, in the sentence "She was about to cross the street when an old lady came across the street", the sentence pattern "I was about to do it … when ………" increased the vividness and compactness of the story.

2. Pay attention to the change of sentence patterns. Commonly used sentence changes are: simple sentences are transformed into complex sentences or complex sentences; The main force is transformed into the driven force; Turn the statement upside down; Ordinary sentences are transformed into stressed sentences; Affirmation is transformed into antonym expression or double negation; Adverbial clauses are converted into participle phrases as adverbials; Attributive clauses are transformed into participle phrases as attributes and so on. For example:

The teacher said the plan was good. Teacher Cheng said the plan was not bad.

When the audience heard strange sounds, they all ran out of the hall to see what had happened. Instead of hearing strange sounds, the audience ran out of the hall to see what happened.

In addition, different genres of compositions can often use some common expressions to achieve unexpected results. For example, writing a composition often starts in the following ways:

We discussed whether ...

We investigated where ... and so on.

Common turning sentences:

Opinions are divided into two factions ...; Some people think ... while others think ...

Different people have different views on this matter.

Just as a coin has two sides, some people think that …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

In short, different schools use different structures to build different "composition buildings".

3. The staggered use of sentence patterns reflects the sense of rhythm of the article. Some candidates blindly pursue the perfection of the article and invariably use complex sentence patterns, which makes the article too gorgeous and appears lengthy and procrastinating, just like the "speaking like a book" in classical Chinese, which makes the marking teacher feel "uncomfortable", thus affecting the score of the composition, which is counterproductive. Long sentences and short sentences have their own advantages, and simple sentences and complex sentences also have their own characteristics: long sentences can increase the connotation of key points and make sentences flourish, but improper use will lead to inaccurate and inflexible use; Inserting short sentences without losing time will make articles of different lengths, which meet the requirements of both structure and expression.

Third, the paragraphs are clear and coherent.

If an article is to be fluent, logical and reasonable, it must have effective cohesive elements, so that the article can connect the preceding with the following. Candidates are advised to use some transitional words or phrases at the beginning of some paragraphs, such as:

The table turns but, however, how, though, however, though, after all, etc. (2) What's more, table progressive, in addition, thought, further, more and so on. ; (3) Indicate cause and effect, because, for, therefore, as consensus/consensus, thanks, etc. ; (4) table comparison on the other hand, instead of, unlike, on the contrary, otherwise, etc. ⑤ The table can be summarized in one word, generally speaking, in short, in short, etc.

Fourth, pay attention to composition writing.

In marking the composition of the college entrance examination, the "emotional score" of the marking teacher is also something that candidates must strive for. The teacher's impression of the composition is directly related to the examinee's composition score. Therefore, in the usual writing, we should deliberately strengthen the training of writing, in order to write neatly and clearly, and the font is beautiful and generous. Conquer the marking teacher from the first impression.

Accumulate a rich vocabulary

High school students don't have to memorize word cards, let alone cram for Buddha's feet. They should contact English every day, communicate with foreigners, or watch English movies, and accumulate vocabulary by dripping into the sea.

Read more English essays.

Senior high school students should read a lot of English world famous works, accumulate beautiful sentences and cultivate a natural sense of literature. It is best to extract some beautiful sentences, read them at any time, and form a good habit of applying these sentences to articles in your usual writing.

Practice writing often.

High school students can practice writing diaries, poems and even novels in English for English teachers to appreciate and improve after writing, or if they have pen pals abroad, they can search online or look them up with the help of a Chinese-English dictionary.

Recite a few model essays for emergency.

In NMET, there are only several genres of English composition. Before the exam, you should reserve a week, choose a wonderful essay for each genre, and then recite it by heart, so that you can save yourself in the case of improvisation and not get full marks.

Reasonable allocation of time

There are a lot of questions in the college entrance examination English paper, so we must arrange the time reasonably to finish the composition. This English composition needs about 100 words. If the foundation is good at ordinary times, you can allocate a quarter of an hour. If you don't have a solid foundation at ordinary times, don't exceed half an hour.

The content should be standardized

The content and style of college entrance examination English composition should be standardized, and candidates with solid writing skills can use complex sentences. Candidates who are not very proficient in grammar would rather use short sentences than complex sentences to avoid exposing language diseases.

The roller surface should be beautiful and tidy.

Usually practice beautiful and fluent English fonts, form a good habit of writing in one breath, don't alter them, give full play to this advantage in college entrance examination English writing, and win precious papers for yourself with beautiful and neat papers.
