Personally, I don’t think it belongs to the square dance category, but to the folk dance category.
Square dance is the largest system in dance art. It is named because it often gathers in squares. It integrates self-entertainment and performance. It uses group dance as the main performance form and aims to entertain the body and mind as the main purpose. It is organized voluntarily by the masses in public places, and most of the participants are middle-aged and elderly people, most of whom are women. Square dance is a dance created by the people, and it is a dance that is exclusive to the people. Because of different nationalities, regions, and groups, the dance forms of square dance are also different.
Folk dance is a body movement language that originates from people’s lives and is expressed in the abstract form of daily activities. It can also be called folk dance, folk dance or international folk dance. Different from ballet that focuses on performance or standardized sports dance, folk dance originates from different environments, lives and customs in various countries. It also matches with the characteristic music and costumes of various countries, and its expressions are very rich.
"Embroidered Fate" reflects the scenes of Zhuang women embroidering Zhuang brocade in their lives. The broad masses of the people will not turn this into a square dance.
