The Island is a modern poem written by a poet in China. In the poem, Zheng Chouyu uses this island as a metaphor to express his inner feelings and loneliness on this island. The island stands alone in the sea, surrounded by endless sea water, and no one can understand its loneliness and helplessness. This poem expresses the sense of insignificance and helplessness of human beings in the world and their desire for understanding and care.
The island in the poem can also be understood as an individual, representing the loneliness and helplessness in everyone's heart. No matter how hard you try to show yourself to the outside world, your inner loneliness still exists. This poem expresses human's desire for love, understanding and belonging, hoping to be accepted and understood by others.
Generally speaking, Zheng Chouyu's The Island depicts an isolated island and calls for love and understanding between people, expressing human loneliness, helplessness and longing for understanding.
