Zhong Ma Lu was an outstanding student studying in Japan in Tang Dynasty, and also an outstanding messenger of Sino-Japanese friendship and cultural exchange. With his extraordinary knowledge and noble character, he won the respect and trust of China's ruling and opposition parties. During his stay in Ma Zhong, Lu Shitang actually played the role of a non-governmental ambassador. As a pioneer of Sino-Japanese friendship and cultural exchange, Ma Lu has made great achievements today. In recognition of his immortal contributions, Japan and China established the "Abe-China Ma Lu Monument" in Nara and Xi 'an in 1978 and 1979 respectively. Xi Anbu Zhongma Road Monument is located at Xingqing Lake in Xingqing Park. It is the former site of Xingqing Palace in Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, and it is also a place frequented by Zhongma Road Shitang. The monument is engraved with Zhong Ma Lu's life story and his two famous poems, Homecoming and Crying for Chaoqingheng by Li Bai.
