It is beautifully written and meticulously depicted, making it a famous piece among the legends of the Tang Dynasty.
Later generations of opera writers created many operas based on their story characters, such as "The Romance of the West Chamber" by Dong Jieyuan of the Jin Dynasty and "The Romance of the West Chamber" by Wang Shifu of the Yuan Dynasty. Yuan Zhen once compiled various collections of poems and essays by himself and collected them with his friends.
